5 Crucial Reasons it’s Time for a New Website

You only have 5-8 seconds to grab the attention of someone that visits your website. That’s it. Can you believe that’s all the time you have to grab someone’s interest? Well in today’s world people are inundated with digital messages and people need clear concise messages that grab their attention in order for them to keep reading. That is why today I am going to talk about the 5 crucial reasons for updating your website now.

Reason #1: It’s Outdated. Your website is very outdated and you probably created it 5 or more years ago. The digital world changes fast just like the fashion industry changes fast and what’s in style and attractive to the eye changes quickly. That is why it is super important to have an updated look that is fresh, crisp, clean, grabs the eye and is stylish.

Reason #2: You Have a Pre-Made Website. Maybe you are a real estate agent or mortgage broker and you were given a stock website from your firm. The price might be great, but you are definitely not branding YOU. You blend in with all the other real estate agents or mortgage brokers out there and as I said, you are not branding YOU you are actually branding your firm or company instead. It’s recommended that today you have your own WordPress website.

Reason #3: Your Website is NOT Mobile Friendly. People are using their phones all the time and most searches are done from a smartphone these days, so it’s super important that your website is mobile friendly. It’s also important to have a mobile friendly website for Google searches. Google is now giving search engine priority to mobile friendly websites over websites that are not mobile friendly. So, again here’s another reason to take your website to new heights.

Reason #4: You Don’t have Blog: Search engines love websites that are updated frequently and audiences LOVE additional information. They want more information than what you have on your website. They want to learn about your business, they want to learn about you and your blog says a great deal about you as a business person as well as establishes you as an authority in your niche or field. So a blog is a must-have. (Wix, Weebly and other plug and play websites don’t have access to a cohesive blog that is WordPress based. Again, another reason to get your website into WordPress.)

Reason #5: You Don’t have a Free Report or Opt-In: Are you capturing leads? Email leads? It’s so important to have a free report about your industry that pulls in your potential audience, sets you apart from your competition and gives great information in exchange for an email.

3 Ways How You Can Use Emotion To Attract New Clients & Patients

83812897One of the biggest reasons social media marketing is so powerful is because it connects humans in such a way that it meets our fundamental human needs. There are six basic human needs and they are certainty, variety, love/connection, significance, contribution and growth. Anthony Robbins explains this in more detail in his article: The 6 Human Needs: Why We Do What We Do.

His research has found that everyone has these six human needs in common, and all behavior is simply an attempt to meet those six needs. Meaning when we buy anything our fundamental objective is to meet one or several of these needs.  This is why using ’emotional marketing’ is so powerful.

When you understand this fundamental motivating reason people use social media and in many cases are addicted to social media you can use emotion to attract new fans, followers and clients.

Now, before I share this information I want to make it clear that I am in no way suggesting that you use trickery or manipulation.  I am simply suggesting that you use your own personal experiences as well as the experiences of your current clients, patients or customers in an authentic, genuine and compassionate intention to help others.

So, let’s talk about how you can use emotion to attract new business:

1.  Share stories of your personal struggle and triumph. Human struggle is a large part of life and that is why movies of struggle and triumph are so popular.  Look at movies like Forest Gump, Harry Potter or Erin Brockovich.  These movies are all stories of challenges, great difficulty, sadness, pain and then healing, triumph and even victory.  These are themes we see played throughout history and now with social media and online marketing we are able to tap into this in a way that serves small businesses in a big way.

So, let me explain how this translates into using this in your business. For example, one of my clients had a horrific motorcycle accident when he was younger.  He experienced incredible pain that literally drove him to almost commit suicide.  He went to doctor after doctor and all they could offer him was pain meds that made him lethargic, which led him to major depression.  Then he found a chiropractor that was able to help him heal and begin to live a normal life again. That experience radically changed his life and then led him to become a Chiropractor.  This is his story of a major struggle and total victory.  He is now on a mission to help people heal holistically.  That is a story of pain, struggle and triumph that pulls new patients in that are experiencing the same life situation.

2.  Share stories of your clients or patients struggle and triumph.  Another way to attract new business is to share the pain and struggle of your patients and clients.  (You may need their permission to use their name or you need to keep that confidential.) So, if you have helped your clients or patients experience triumph and victory you want to share this information to attract new clients that want those same results.

3.  Paint a new picture for their future.  The third way to use emotion to attract new clients or 133615745patients is to paint a picture for a new, improved and better life that brings in more happiness, love, success, health, healing, intimate relationships (connection) and confidence. (In relationship to what you offer.)  Again, these are basic needs and desires.  So, if your product or service can demonstrate and illustrate a new picture for their life you will surely attract new business.

Now the question becomes how do you share these stories of struggle and triumph. You can do this through audio, video, blog, articles, eBooks, status updates, photos, live conference calls, radio shows, radio ads, interviews and more.

This the most powerful form of marketing on the planet and if you do it with integrity, authenticity and with a real desire to help people you will be massively more successful.

This is something one of my most successful VIP clients has adopted in her business and it has dramatically increased the amount of comments, shares, fans, clients and business she receives.

At first she was resistant to it.  Being vulnerable can feel like weakness however, it is truly the exact opposite.  Sharing your struggle takes great courage and others will respect you, relate to you and feel a deeper connection to you.

So, start experimenting and incorporating emotional marketing into your strategy and relationship with your fans, clients and patients. The big brands do the exact same thing.  Model them, study them and get inspired.
